STITCH: "Champagne" [New Single & Video Release]

British pop trip STITCH have revealed their latest track, the dark and brooding alt-pop anthem ‘Champagne’. The song, which the band wrote, performed and produced themselves, is accompanied by a raucous, lively video with all sorts of questionable behaviour on show. It is due for release next week.

STITCH say: “Everyone knows someone or has been that person who does something they shouldn’t at a party or event, and immediately blames it on the booze. It's often just an attempt to shift responsibility, and eventually people call them/you out for having had at least some aware- ness of what was going on. Temptation is a key theme, and affects everyone under the influence, whether you’re a ‘good’ or a ‘bad’ person.

“Some of the scenes in the Champagne video are quite explicit. Although we don’t actively celebrate this behaviour, we felt it was important to illustrate the meaning behind the song”. ‘ Champagne’ itself acts as a substitute for any old substance that we use and abuse to hide our true motives!”

‘Champagne’ follows the release of STITCH’s previous three tracks, ‘Fool’, ‘Not One To Say’ and ‘Goodbye Highline’, all of which have been released over the last three months and appear on the band’s debut EP ‘Welcome to the Dream’. The band, unique in that they write, perform and produce all of their music in-house, consists of Nikita, Gray and Kye. The three friends originally met at University, and they now write and record from their West London living room.
STITCH’s music blends a unique and organic, raw instrumental sensibility with modern electronic elements. Their musical philosophy is built on creating popular music outside of sub-genre and era, combining sounds and styles from the present and past to be redefined using bleeding edge production methods.

As well as recording their debut EP, they have also already successfully transferred this sound from the studio to the stage, and have performed to packed crowds in the UK, including the main stage in Trafalgar Square for London Pride.
The band will play a headline show to celebrate the launch of their EP at The Hoxton Underbelly on Friday 30th March.
